Join Rabbi David Spinrad and Torah scholar Gilah Goldsmith for a Tikkun Leil Shavuot text study as we prepare to commemorate the giving of Torah on Sinai. 

Rabbi Spinrad’s session will be an introduction to the Jewish Bookshelf and the different meanings of the word “Torah.” From the 5 Books of Moses to Rabbinic literature to halachic codes to even modern Jewish poetry, depending on context, Torah can and does mean many things.

Gilah Goldsmith's session will teach what the Book of Ruth says about kindness in a time of chaos. Set in the days of the judges, when “everyone did as he pleased,” the story of Ruth is a story of kindness and its rewards.
