Beth El at Work

Contributions in all amounts help support a wide variety of projects and programs at Beth El Hebrew Congregation.

Sunday, February 7

Buy soup and leave it in the box of the team you want to win the Super Bowl. Bring your team some luck and help feed Alexandria's hungry.

February is also time for the Beth El Housewares Drive for ALIVE! Consider buying new pillows, towels, and sheets for people moving out of shelters into their own homes. If not new, please be sure bedding and towels are only "gently used." (No used pillows, please.) You can also donate cookware, plates, cups, and cutlery. This collection begins on Feb. 1 and ends on Feb. 28. Please respect those dates.

For more information about ALIVE! go to alive-inc.org.

Bailey's Shelter

Bailey's has just been named a regional hypothermia center.  We need additional families to help with the cooking.  You may cook it in the comfort of your home and either deliver it to Beth El or the shelter.  Assistance is also needed to serve guests and residents cafeteria style in two dinner shifts (5:00 and 6:00 PM), the 2nd and fourth Sunday, December through March.  You are welcome to just prepare a dish, serve to do both for one or both shifts. Please contact Julie Mueller at [email protected].
