Meet Synagogue President, Carly Rubenstein
Carly Rubenstein is an accomplished executive and producer in the arts and entertainment industry, with more than 20 years of experience building successful businesses and leading large-scale museum installations. She is currently producing a major new museum project in Washington, DC, and is honored to be stepping into the role of President of Beth El Hebrew Congregation, following two terms on the Board, including her most recent service as Treasurer.
Carly and her husband, Eric, moved to Northern Virginia in 2018 with their two children, Madeline and Miles. Since joining Beth El, Carly has been a dedicated and engaged member—enrolling both children in religious school and celebrating both Madeline’s Bat Mitzvah and Miles’ Bar Mitzvah within the Beth El community. Carly is an active member of The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and a participant in Federation’s Leadership Cohort 2025. Previously, she served on the Board of The Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis and her former synagogue in Indianapolis, Congregation Beth El Zedeck. Her leadership is rooted in a deep appreciation for Jewish community, and she values Beth El for its warm, welcoming, and supportive environment.
As President, Carly looks forward to leading with a spirit of collaboration, transparency, and care, helping guide Beth El into its next chapter with strength and unity.
