Beth El Nex Gen Principles

The purpose of this group is to bring the Jewish community, their families, and those actively in the conversion process closer together. Together, we are the next generation of congregants and board members of Beth El Hebrew Congregation. It is important for us to stay engaged and active in our spiritual home. Please, note that our official form of communication is via the mobile application GroupMe. If you wish to join, an administrator of the group will need to approve you.

1. It is vital for the longevity of the group for every member to be actively engaged throughout the year. Membership access is at the discretion of the NexGen Council and can be revoked if you do not attend social events or participate in the GroupMe chat within a 12 month span.

2. Be Kind and courteous to one another. Nex Gen is a safe place for all people.

3. There is no discussion of politics, illicit substances, and or sexual activity in the GroupMe.

Our Whereabouts:

Our group loves spending time together—especially after Friday night services! Whether we’re exploring local restaurants, indulging in sweet treats, or simply enjoying each other’s company, there’s always something fun happening.

We also gather on weekends, for Jewish holidays, and for community events in support of Beth El. This past year, we:
• Went apple picking to welcome Rosh Hashanah
• Broke the fast together on Yom Kippur
• Celebrated Purim at Sixth & I
• Cooked latkes and played trivia for Hanukkah
• Hosted a Next Gen table at Beth El’s second-night Passover Seder

Beyond the holidays, we’ve toured the new Capital Jewish Museum, hosted movie nights at the temple, and volunteered for Beth El’s MLK Day of Service.

There’s so much more to come—we’d love for you to be part of it. Join us and find your place in our vibrant Jewish community.
