Named for its founder, the Rhoda Goldman Memorial Giant Annual Book sale is one of Beth El’s most important annual events. It serves as a major fundraiser that also strengthens the bonds within our congregation and deepens our ties to the Alexandria community and beyond. Every year, members come together to sort donations and staff the sale weekend, turning a fundraiser into a true community experience.
The sale is always held on President’s Day weekend.

Please note: We are not able to accept encyclopedias, general-purpose dictionaries, magazines, VHS tapes, or music cassettes.
Getting your donations to us is easy. Choose the option that works best for you:
Drop off anytime
In good weather, leave bags and boxes near the cargo container by the parking lot, then let the office know.
Wednesday drop-off with help
Ring the kitchen bell between 1:00-7:00 pm on Wednesdays if the weather is poor or you need assistance unloading.
Schedule an appointment
Call the office to arrange a drop-off at another time.
Can’t get here?
Email us and we’ll do our best to arrange a pick-up at your location.
If you need a tax receipt for your donation, contact the office and they’ll send one to you by email.
