Welcome to the Community Learning Programs web page for Beth El Hebrew Congregation.
Beth El's clergy, staff, and knowledgeable lay leaders have coordinated to provide a wide variety of opportunities to meet your desire for life-long learning.
All course offerings, Shabbat afternoon seminars and scholar-in-residence programs are open to all congregants at Beth El including religious school students who have completed the B'nai Mitzvah program (as long as it does not conflict with their requirements for confirmation or pre-confirmation classes). Our classes and other learning opportunities are also open those who are not members of Beth El. So, if you have friends who you think would be interested in the opportunities we are offering, invite them to learn with you.
You may have sampled one or two of the many adult study options at Beth El, but here is a refresher on all of the ways Beth El members are learning:
Weekly:
- Each Wednesday when religious school meets, Adult Study meets at 7:00 pm: See our calendar for upcoming offerings.
- Each Saturday, Torah Study meets on the week's Torah portion, starting at 9:00 a.m.
- Each Sunday, Adult Hebrew classes (which begin again in the fall) meet at 10:00 am (beginner) and at 11:00 am (intermediate).
Monthly
- On the first Thursday each month: Lunch with the Clergy - Bring your lunch and learn about Jewish responses as varied as this week's portion and today's headlines.
- On the third Tuesday each month: Rosh Chodesh - Beth El WRJ hosts
Rabbi Roz Gold to share women's wisdom in Jewish history and tradition
at 7:30 p.m.
