Special Funds
Donations to special funds are a wonderful way to honor or memorialize a person or event, and are a significant source of revenue for the Congregation. Recipients are notified and contributions are recorded in The Bulletin unless the donor requests otherwise.
Building Wisdom Fund - Invest in our Beth El Home and help pay off the renovation mortgage.
Permanent Endowment Fund -Invest in our Beth El future.
Beth El General Fund - Unrestricted donations that may be used to
provide or enhance any Beth El program or service.
Project for Inclusion Fund - Ensures ways to welcome people with disabilities or other special needs.
Endowment Fund - Operates under a separate charter to “provide funds for capital expenditures to maintain, repair, replace, reconstruct, expand or relocate the physical plant and facilities of Beth El and to maintain and expand the religious, educational, cultural and philanthropic activities of the congregation.”
Froma Lippmann Memorial Fund - Supports programs and activities that deal with issues of mental health and healing consistent with Judaism.
Holocaust Memorial Fund - Maintains our Holocaust Memorial Garden.
Jack Klein Memorial Genealogy Library - Acquires and maintains genealogy materials for our library.
Lando Fund - Supplements dues of congregants in need of financial assistance.
Arnold G. Fink Library and Learning Center Fund - Acquires materials for the library, archives and Lifelong Learning Center.
Marc Ross Scholarship Fund - Awards one scholarship per year to a graduating high school senior who is a member of Beth El and who has contributed exemplary service to Beth El and/or the greater Jewish community.
Memorial Board Plaque - Members may purchase a plaque in memory of a loved one, to be mounted in our Meditation Room near the Sanctuary.
Richard Fakoury Music Fund - Used to further music at Beth El as determined by the cantor.
Prayer Book Fund - Prayer books used in our Shabbat, festival and High Holy Day services are purchased from this fund, as needed.
Rabbi’s Good Deed Fund - The rabbi has sole discretion to disperse money donated to this fund.
Religious School Fund - Used to enhance the activities of the Religious School.
Shapiro Religious School Scholarship Fund - Used to offset costs for children who need financial assistance in order to attend religious school or participate in its activities.
Simcha Tree of Life - Leaves on this decorative tree may be dedicated in honor of any simcha.
Brotherhood also accepts funds for the following three specific and specified purposes:
- Kitchen:
Funds used solely to improve and enhance the Beth El kitchen facilities, such as new ovens, freezers, dishwasher repairs, etc.
- Brotherhood Youth Scholarship
:
Funds to help support the Jewish education and leadership skills of 7th - 10th grade Beth El Hebrew school students and BEFTY members.

- Chapel in the Woods
:
Funds to enhance the maintenance and improvement of the Chapel in the Woods, such as the building of an outdoor ark.
