Beth
El Hebrew Congregation was founded in 1859 by a small but dedicated
group of German-Jewish immigrants seeking to establish a religious and
cultural home in their adopted country. Having been in continuous service
since that time, Beth El continues its distinction as Northern
Virginia’s first and longest-lived congregation.
During the many decades of our history, through periods
of unprecedented historic and social change, Beth El has flourished
as a spiritual and cultural center. An open, vibrant, and active
community, we seek to provide every member with a positive and
meaningful Jewish experience.
