Beth El is getting a face-lift! Over the next six to nine months, look for dramatic changes around Beth El, all part of the Building Wisdom effort to add space and to enhance our temple's image. Some of the improvements include a new entrance way and meeting area in the area where our back entrance currently is located. The administrative offices and rabbi's and cantor's offices will be moved to this new area, as will the Judaica Shop.
Enjoy our slide show of changes, and check back frequently for new pictures.
The new entry way will house a sitting area where congregants can sit and talk and parents can meet before and after religious school. In the area where the administrative offices were, we are building the Arnold Fink Lifelong Learning Center, to be used by both adults and students for classes, workshops and ther educational activities. We also are expanding the existing hallway from the door to the sanctuary so it is less of a bottleneck.
About $100,000 will also be spent for improvements to the kitchen and the religious school classrooms.
With our new Homeland Security grant, additional security devices are being installed.
Congregants interested in making a donation toward the Building Wisdom
capital campaign should contact our Temple president
John
Jankowski or Building Wisdom coordinator
Dana Arnold. The total
cost for this project is more than $2 million, including the loan. To
date, almost 200 families have contributed and pledged nearly $1.2 million
to Building Wisdom. More than 50 of our members have generously made
leadership gifts of $10,000 or more. All gifts are greatly appreciated.
Each pledge is greatly needed.
